Last weekend, two friends and I flew from Aberdeen to London with a single fixed plan: to see live the concert of IZAL, a pop/rock group led by Mikel Izal, vocalist and composer, Emanuel Pérez, Alejandro Jordá, Alberto Pérez and Iván Mella. The Spanish band formed in Madrid in 2010 has only grown and has been awarded several times, both by the Rolling Stone Awards and other musical organizations as by listeners like me with endless applauses at the end of each concert.

During the trip, the three of us were expectant of the show but meanwhile, we also took time to walk around and visit the city. Ane and I had already been in this cosmopolitan city but for Maria any experience in London was new. That's why we decided to see as much as we could in those days. We visited the most touristic places of London but at the end we also had time to get lost in the less known avenues of the capital. Strolling is one of the things that I appreciate the most when I travel. Having time to walk without direction or hurry is without a doubt a luxury. We are too used of going to typical places to take even more common photos, and I think it’s really important to give priority to other things that we enjoy doing. Taking a coffee in a special coffee shop, getting drunk on beers without worrying about waking up early the next day or jogging in the morning are just some of the examples. At least for me.

During the stay, we came to pass through arbitrary places that made this trip to London unique, despite the visits to Big Ben, Picadilly Circus and Buckingham Palace. I have tried to capture what really represents for me London, a varied city, with a myriad of nationalities that come together to create an atmosphere of unparalleled plurality. During this visit, I have been struck by the numerous buildings with original facades, varied styles and heights unattainable to the naked eye from their foundations. Also, I wanted to mention that vertical gardens are beginning to gain importance in the city and cannot be more original! The fact of looking up and being able to connect the view of the sky (hopefully blue, but more commonly grey) with a garden of different colours of greens, cannot be more comforting. In addition, buildings with beautiful facades make me forget the amount of people on the streets of London. For me, it is one of the most negative things of this city.

Vintage shops, peculiar buildings and laughs with my friends have been the best of the trip. Without forgetting Saturday's concert at The Grand. It was undoubtedly a show that I would repeat (despite my low vocal potency the day after) where we returned to feel the human warmth that we are used to at home. Once again, it was impressive the concert of IZAL, surrounded by strangers but with whom we connected in that special moment.

P.S. I attach songs that I like most of IZAL, in case someone feels the tickle to browse or simply wants to expand the list of songs.

Happy week!
